Thats because I'm Invincible :twist: No fire mage has beaten me since level 60ish Until mages started learning 2nd element. Now I get creamed all the time by bloody healers
Nice damage Rohaa
On each increase in level every mage/witch gets
Willpower: Increase base mana by 5 per point
Endurance: Increase base health by 4 per point.

Which is why higher levels can last longer. mine are Health: 1552 / 1552, Mana: 1985 / 1985 would be bigger If I had got minor healing instead of putting extra 20 points on intell.
I still run out of mana. can only cast purgatory 4 times after casting all 5 of glowing eyes + summons in a coven duel. [Yes Hasky I use the superior summons in a coven duel. 2 reasons if someones cast glowing eyes or dessert burial at me I can still summon. + saves mana for a strong spell on 3rd round.]

If you get better defence items against their element their spells will do less damage to you. the spells you cast will stay the same. If they improve their defence you will do less damage.
If you get a better staff/wand your spells will cast higher damage. The higher your intell does improve your spells cast. If my intell is over 700 the rabies effect activates on my bear. without the extra 80 intell (2x intell potions) the rabies effect doesnt work as it will only work on a spell cast of 333 damage or more.

Yes yes, I know that, but it doesn't explain why your SUMS last longer, since afaik, they don't draw directly on your mana pool but have their own.

Yes, but if I get a better staff, will my SUMMONS do better damage? I was beating up a fellow summing fire mage last night of some 15 lvls above me, and his sums did about the same damage of mine. Now this may just be b/c they have semi the same int/staff anyway.

This whole summons thing just confuses me. The info isn't actually stated anywhere as far as I've been able to tell. evil sums (vamps) hit about 2.5 times as hard as, say, ours, but either they use more mana for it or have a smaller pool. air sums do less damage but last forever. But nowhere does it say what influences sums. If I were fanatic enough, I'd go run a series of tests find out But i'm not (too much work)

ok I know I can summon more because each uses 100 mana when it is summoned.

The summons damage doesnt seem to increase with a more powerful staf/wand. My fire staff does 141% damage but both of our summons do similiar amounts of damage.

Our defence items dont apply to the summons. dont know why but they dont but any damage the summons receive is included in our health points damage.

There is info on ToM forum in the archives. I'll try and find it. but it goes back about 8 months. So wont be today.

I tried digging into the archives myself, but I couldn't find any. Will try to hit you up a few times today to see if I can work out a difference in the amount of times our sums can hit. Maybe it's just a simple matter of my sums running out because they have so many more of your sums to hit, I don't know. That would be cool, though, and explain why all those higher lvl sups don't rape me.

Oh, and I noticed you cast sum first and eyeballs second? Methinks opposite works better

I have it set like that for single duels only can actually last longer in single duel with having extra summons.

I have separate spell books 1 for duels and 1 for coven duels/adventures

Im not very excited about having summoning in CAT, but girls (both) are right, it protects you from being limited and miss

Hay raghu, nice to see you in here! It's fun to see both of us casting our sums 2nd turn, they do pretty decent damage, too (better than me, anyway, when I'm out of mana). And don't worry, most of us aren't premmie.

I get Lord Phule, kira the awakened, vawned and Arthas because they attack me in return.

Guardians of the west and guardians of good attack each other aswell so we give friends exp instead of enemies.

all right i'll try and get some higher lvl members infuriated..so they wud attack me in return wanna lvl up real fast.

1. I am not sure whether summons get more mana, but I am fairly certain they do not.
2. The summons do not gain additional defence, this is evident from seeing both low level mage summons and high level mage summons. (If they gained defence, then the high level mage summons would take less, but they don't)
3. Summon damage does not go up. Or, if it does it is so miniscule that it does not matter. I have noticed that the damage varies somewhat, this probably means the summons lack the int to always do full damage. (And its not damage increase from mage because mage 1 summon spell 1 might do x more damage than mage 2 summon spell 1, but then mage 2 summon spell 2 does more damage than mage 1 summon spell 2.)
4. Quite obviously, the summons have their own mana pool. Otherwise no one would use them.

The Vampire and Unicorn are anomalies compared to Elemental summons. They do more damage but they run out of mana extremely quickly (within a few rounds). Obviously the stronger the spell the more mana it costs, thus you can think of the Vampire as doing Superior spells while the summons do Majoris spells. They most likely have the sama mana pool, but the Teleport spell for example costs around 250mana per casting.

In short, it seems as though Summons are as they were before. Independent creatures summoned by the Mage whose strength does not affect the creature. The only change is that Superior Summons have been given far greater health, mana and resistance.

Actually, its considerably more than that. I just had a look at my Cerberus, and it casted approximately 29 spells. Each spell varied in mana cost between 75-102 mana. That means it had a mana pool of 2175-2958. I tested its health a little while back and it had around 900-1000 hp. Combined with its 50% resistance, this is why the summons are currently so powerful in battle. Its stats are far higher than the previous summons.

Hm, Teleportation may cost more than what I thought or its possible the Vampire has a smaller mana pool.

Edit: Xuron just pointed out something vital, the summons may be casting level 1 versions of the spells. I just checked and a summon does only around half the damage of a level 3 version. So the number above is probably double what the actual number is. So mana pool is probably more like 1087 - 1479. So taking that into account, the probability that the Vampire has the same mana pool is high.

Hmm...(ohs noes, dots! sorry hasky!) I wonder about the mana pool growing, because I'm fairly sure my little cerberus does NOT last 29 rounds. Then again, I just counted and got to 22 before the fight ended. But I swear I saw it run out of mana before, and if 22 rounds is my max...*thinks* I'll experiment a bit.

Im experimenting atm have de-activated my glowing eyeballs in single duels. lasting alot longer and doing more damage in the long run. With energy strike, superior fire summons and heat.

I don't think it'd work for me though, I rely too much on eyeballs to keep others from hitting me and sending me fleeing after a few rounds. Health isn't up as high as yours

From the forum, it seems the only defence against healers is massive damage and sending them injured before they can heal up. Strange how it never really works.

Well, im certainly not planning on taking a plane everytime i wanted to visit my folks!!
